Horse chestnut Trees on Ham Green

The Parish Council has been advised that the three horse chestnuts standing on Ham Green are affected by a disease (bleeding canker) and need to be removed primarily on safety grounds.  The Council has reluctantly agreed to this and intends to replant the area with one or more native trees.  The Wiltshire Council arboricultural officer has approved this action.  A flyer is being distributed to all homes in the village on 12/14 July giving more details.  Following reports by two separate tree surgeons, an expert was engaged to make a recommendation on the best course of action.  His report may be seen here.  The expert will be available to answer questions at an open meeting of the Council at 7pm on 25 July in the Village Hall.
